Reading time: 1 minutes and 3 seconds

The winners of the 2018 BAFTA Scotland Awards were announced on Sunday 4 November, and we’re pleased to report that our members John MacLaverty and Armando Iannucci both picked up awards.

At a Glasgow ceremony hosted by Edith Bowman, Directors UK members John Maclaverty and Armando Iannucci picked up awards for Best Director - Factual (for Scotland 78: A Love Story) and Best Director - Fiction (The Death of Stalin) respectively. Both films turned out to be the evening's biggest winners, with Scotland 78: A Love Story also picking up the Award for Best Single Documentary, and The Death of Stalin winning Best Writer Film/Television.

This was a strong year in the directing categories, with several Directors UK members recognised for their work. Congratulations to all of this year's winners and nominees — you can read a full list here.
