On Tuesday 16 July, the nominations for the 2019 Primetime Emmy Awards were announced — and we’re pleased to say that Directors UK members were recognised for their directing across several genres.
Directors UK member Harry Bradbeer is nominated in the “Outstanding Directing For A Comedy Series” category for Fleabag — Episode 1, meanwhile, members Johan Renck and Stephen Frears are included in the “Outstanding Directing For A Limited Series, Movie Or Dramatic Special” category for Chernobyl and A Very English Scandal respectively.
In the “Outstanding Directing For A Variety Series” category, Directors UK member Rhys Thomas is nominated alongside Alex Buono for Documentary Now! — Waiting For The Artist, and member Dan Mazer is nominated with Sacha Baron Cohen, Nathan Fielder and Daniel Gray Longino for Who Is America? — Episode 102.
Meanwhile, in the “Outstanding Directing For A Variety Special” category, Directors UK member Dan Winston earned a nomination for Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live From Liverpool. Finally, in the “Outstanding Directing For A Documentary/Nonfiction Program” category, members Dan Reed and Tim Wardle are nominated for Leaving Neverland and Three Identical Strangers respectively.
