BAFTA Craft nominations announced

The BAFTA Craft nominations were announced yesterday (16th April), with directors of Top Boy, Dancing on Ice and Educating Essex amongst those in the running for awards.

In the Director – Factual category, David Clews, Sacha Mirzeoff, Charlie Russell and Vanessa Berlowitz, Chadden Hunter and Kathryn Jeffs have all been chosen by the Academy for their work in the genre. Clews’ nomination comes for Educating Essex, Mirzeoff’s for Protecting Our Children, Russell’s for Terry Pratchett’s Choosing to Die and Berlowitz, Hunter and Jeffs’ for Frozen Planet (To the Ends of the Earth).

The nominees for Director – Fiction consist of Julian Jarrold, Yann Demange, John Alexander and Hugo Blick. Jarrold is recognised for Appropriate Adult, Demange for Top Boy, Alexander for Exile and Blick for The Shadow Line.

Finally, the Director – Multi-Camera nominations go to Richard Valentine, Ben Kellett, Claire Popplewell and Phil Heyes. Valentine is in the running for his direction on Dancing on Ice, Kellett for Mrs Brown’s Boys, Popplewell for The Royal Wedding and Heyes for the final of this year’s X Factor.
