The Grierson Awards have today (21 September) announced the nominations for their 2022 ceremony. The awards, established in 1972, celebrate the art of documentary filmmaking, acknowledging significant contributions to the genre from Britain and abroad.
Lorraine Heggessey, Chair of The Grierson Trust says:
As we celebrate The Grierson Trust’s 50th anniversary year, this stunning collection of nominations shows that the documentary is as vibrant and relevant as ever. The wide-ranging subject matter and overall excellence of these films is the reason documentaries earn their place on both long-standing broadcast channels and the newer platforms.

The winners will be announced at The Grierson Awards ceremony, which will take place on the evening of 10 November 2022 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank, London. Tickets are now available for purchase online.
