Biography
I was born in Iowa (USA), grew up in Yorkshire and I currently live and work between London and Berlin. I am an award-winning, multi-disciplinary director with over a decade of experience in developing and producing original narrative content. Recent work includes music videos, short form drama and audio drama for leading production companies including the BFI, BBC, Naked Productions, Alcove Entertainment and Skillshare.
My debut short film "one like him" was funded by the BFI and selected by over 10 festivals this year including LIFF (BIFA-qualifying) and Frameline Festival (BAFTA-qualifying, San Francisco). The film was also selected to be part of the BFI festivals tour “Best of Film Hub North” and won BEST LGBTQ FILM and NEIFF.
This year I completed training in television directing with renowned director Laurence Moody who's former students include Rebecca Gatward, Ruth Carney and Susie Wokoma.
In theatre, I have been writing, editing and developing scripts for over ten years with writers including Laurie Nunn (Sex Education) and Mike Bartlett (Dr Foster) bringing projects from commission to production. I have also directed theatre at foremost institutions in the UK, US and Europe including the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Almeida and Signature Theatre (NYC). I am also a Sky Arts Scholarship Winner and I used the £30,000 award to found The Coterie – a production company which developed multi-disciplinary projects with women artists at the core. In the last 4 years my focus has turned to screen directing, transferring the skills and experience in theatre to screen drama.
