Biography
My name is Will. I am a writer and director living in London. I am also a keen surfer and I like to travel off the beaten path to weird and wonderful places. Through my films I tell stories about people coming out of their shell and I try to subvert audience expectations. My work often has a comedic feel to it but on a deeper level there is a sadness that I hope can be poignant and thought provoking. I love the work of directors like Jacques Audiard and Taika Waititi. Their films have a specific, undeniable creative stamp, regardless of the genre.
I have been writing and directing my own, self-funded, short films alongside making branded content and documentaries for the past six years. I have worked with clients such as Nike and my work has taken me as far away as the northern mountains of Pakistan. In March, I graduated from the NFTS Directing Commercials diploma and I am currently working on a new short film that I intend to produce and direct over the summer.
Over the past year I have been the lead director for a production company who make educational content. It is an extremely fast paced environment which requires intense collaboration with cast, clients and crew. This has taught me a great deal about storytelling and allowed me to explore my own directing style. I am also an editor which has been fundamental for me on my filmmaking journey.
