Biography

Alex Gale is a Emmy, BAFTA, and Royal Television Society-winning documentary filmmaker best known for character-driven storytelling in the world of sport. In 2023 Gale directed the Emmy-winning Football Must Go On (Paramount Plus), telling the human stories behind Ukrainian football Champions Shakhtar Donetsk's war-torn season. Gale is also know for his work in India, including Sons Of The Soil (Amazon Prime), following the fortunes of Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan's Pro Kabaddi team across a season, exploring how an explosion in the sport's popularity has transformed players' lives.
