Biography

Max is an Irish/Australian director born in Hackney, London. He loves heightened realism and films with a strong aesthetic that frequently descend into nasty endings. This love of aesthetics has developed by working within the art department for over ten years.

His work has explored genre. However, more recently, its focus has been horror. Previous narratives include: Cooking in a 50s dystopia, a psychosexual thriller about a bag, murdering one's namesakes for ultimate uniqueness and creative jealousy within an art-world couple.
These shorts have played at BAFTA/OSCAR/BIFA/CANADIAN SCREEN AWARD Qualifying festivals worldwide. 

His latest short, RHYME OR DIE, premiered at Screamfest Horror FF, played Méliès D'Argent Qualifying Razor Reel Flanders FF and will be released on Short of the Week and Watch Alter.

At the start of 2023, he began a Directors UK mentorship with Lee Haven Jones (THE FEAST).

His horror feature, MARTHA, is in development with Rasp Films.
