Biography

Catherine is an award-winning director and screenwriter. Her most recent project is NUCLEAR, a supernatural thriller feature film which she directed and co-wrote. The film stars Emilia Jones, George Mackay and Sienna Guillory.

Her shorts include THE BLACK DOG starring David Threlfall, NADGER (BAFTA Cymru winner) and THINGS THAT FALL FROM THE SKY starring Ophelia Lovibond and Steven Waddington.

A lot of her work deals with the margins between reality and the imaginary. As well as having her own defining aesthetic, one of her strengths as a director is in being able to convey the inner experience of her characters on screen.

Catherine has a huge amount of experience working with actors as well as making documentaries - often with vulnerable people.  She has her own very strong vision as a director and she is also particularly sensitive to the collaborative process and to the need to include the whole team in her creative world. Her academic background facilitates a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of logic and structure, while her experience as a teacher and mentor makes her extremely adept at working with people and negotiating problems.

She also believes that it’s possible for everyone to have a great time making great work.
