Biography
Christopher Manning is an award-winning writer, director and producer working in fiction and documentary. His most recent drama short Nowhere, which was commissioned by the BFI and British Council and co-produced by Cannes-winning production company Majdal Films, will be released at festivals in 2021. His previous short Isha premiered at BFI London Film Festival in 2018 and picked up numerous nominations and several wins on the festival circuit. In 2017, his debut drama short Jamie was selected for the BFI and British Council's FiveFilms4Freedom campaign. Both Isha and Jamie are available on Amazon Prime in the US and the UK. His short films have received multiple nominations and awards, screened at over 75 festivals worldwide and garnered millions of views online. Festival selections include BFI London Film Festival, Encounters, Uppsala, London Short Film Festival, Frameline, Outfest, Queer Lisboa, and BFI Flare, among many others. Christopher is a BFI Network x BAFTA Crew scheme participant, a member of Directors UK and an Alumnus of the Telluride Film Festival Student Symposium. He holds a BA in History from Columbia University in the City of New York and an MA in Filmmaking from The London Film School. His upcoming drama feature debut is in development with 2020 BFI Vision Award recipient James Watson attached.
