Biography

Marnie Baxter is an actress and director with 25 years’ experience in TV, film, and theatre. Acting credits include TV roles in Annika (UK TV), Shetland (BBC), Karen Pirie (World Productions), Coronation Street and Emmerdale (ITV). Her first film as a director, Bad Mother played over 30 festivals worldwide, winning several awards and was described by Mark Kermode as ‘an excellently unsettling directorial debut’. Do This For Me, Marnie's second short, premiered at BFI Flare in 2022 and is currently on the festival circuit. Her third, Hello, Muscles, funded by Creative Scotland and starring Kate Dickie and Richard Rankin, is just completed and ready for festival submissions.
