Andy Devonshire

I am a filmmaker with a wide range of experience. I specialise in setting the look and style for new TV series. I develop, refine and troubleshoot ideas and new formats to make them work. I enjoy running large teams, fostering talent and coordinating complex and frenetic filming units. I also love the relative simplicity of single camera or self shot films and commercials. I love to make things work, and above all look great. Series Director experience includes evolving both 'The Great British Bake Off' and 'The Apprentice', bringing them both from BBC2 to BBC1. 10 series and (3 comic/ sport relief specials) for 'BBC1's The Apprentice'/ 'Young Apprentice', Series 1,2,3 (part), 5,6,7 of The Great British Bake Off' and C4's 'The Taste', 'Child Genius' and 'Four Rooms'. 

I won BAFTAs in 2012 for both 'Young Apprentice' and 'The Great British Bake Off' then again for 'The Great British Bake Off' in 2016 and ‘Taskmaster’ in 2020. Single films include a feature documentary 'America Unchained' with Dave Gorman, a comedy doc 'The Games that time forgot' with Alex Horne, David Lean and Alfred Hitchcock specials with Jonathan Ross. Other comedy includes Charlie Brooker's 'Weekly Wipe/ 2013/14 Wipe' and 'Ross Noble Freewheeling' - a 6 part, 'improvised comedy doc' series with Ross Noble. An anti travelogue, using only twitter as his guide... 

Also 'Taskmaster' for UK and USA - Series Director and Executive Producer, as well as 'The Button' for BBC1.
