Ahmed Jamal studied film making at The London Film School and is a film director and producer. His company First Take Ltd has produced programmes for the BBC, Channel 4, HBO, CNN, ARTE, ZDF and other international broadcasters. 

He has just completed work as a consultant producer on an international feature documentary about Gandhi and his message of non violence. He recently directed a feature film entitled Rahm, an adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Measure for Measure” set in Lahore Pakistan which was released in cinemas in UK, Pakistan and France and was screened on Channel 4 in December 2019 and is now on C4 Catch up. 

His feature documentary ‘ The Journalist and the Jihadi, the murder of Daniel Pearl’ narrated by Christiane Amanpour premiered on HBO and CNN in America to wide critical acclaim getting two Emmy nominations in 2008 and won the Indian National Film Award for best documentary, 2008. His other awards include British Film Institute Award for Independent Cinema in 1989 .
