Biography

In my 20 year career I have made famous TV programmes like Panorama (BBC1), Time Team (C4), Married At First Sight (C4) and Blue Peter (BBC1). My short films have screened at 40 festivals globally, and I have made commercials and brand films for Citibank, BUPA, Jaguar, Land Rover and Aldi.  I won a Focal International Award for best use of archival footage, and was finalist for a British Council Creative Entrepreneur Award.
I am a narrative and performance director, with particular expertise directing children and inexperienced performers. My background is in documentary but I make a lot of naturalistic drama and drama recon.
I have a skill for picking out rising stars among my crew, many of whom have gone on to win BAFTAs, Oscars and Emmys.
I enjoy taking dense or challenging content and developing light-hearted, innovative ways to present it. I've done that with history, science, business and social topics, while my political programmes have made front page news
Filmmaking has taken me to 17 countries on 4 continents. I enjoy building international teams and working far from base; I have a global network of crew at all levels. I'm currently completing Sound Asleep, a comedy short film starring Red Dwarf's Danny John-Jules, shot in Madrid.
I bring a lot of fun, energy and adventure to my shoots, on and off screen. So to launch the Kickstarter for my film, Sound Asleep, I organised a guerrilla flash mob in Trafalgar Square: a massive, 2000 person pillow fight. And I got in the middle of it, in my pyjamas, camera in one hand, pillow in the other!
Outside of film making I am an artist, performer and comedian. I have made  installations, performance art and comedy at festivals worldwide, including Burning Man (USA), Nozstock (UK), Borderland (Denmark), and Nowhere (Spain).
