Biography

Eirini is an award winning fiction film director. She has a Film Directing certificate by New York University; and a PhD in Film studies focusing on science fiction films about memory and technology. The PhD is based on her first feature film Mnemophrenia which was produced and shot in London (www.mnemophrenia.com) She is a Senior Film Lecturer specialising in film production and directing at University of Essex, UK. Eirini has produced, written and directed her first feature film, Mnemophrenia, a sci-fi drama which had its world premiere at the 44th Boston Science Fiction Film Festival and received the Festival Director’s Commendation Award. The film is widely released around the world on various platforms: Amazon Prime, Google Play, Tubi TV and Roku Channel amongst others in US by LA based distribution company Indie Rights Movies.  Prior to Mnemophrenia, Eirini wrote, produced and directed four short films, which have been screened at international film festivals. Her film I love you..? won first prize in the 2007 Thessaloniki Short Film Festival and the short film Snapshots won the first prize at the Dorset Cereals Simple Pleasures film competition in 2010.  She has also been commissioned to produce and direct two educational films. ‘Let’s Think’ was commissioned by Let’s Think Forum and ‘English – The Key to Integration’ was commissioned by UCL Institute of Education, supported by the Mayor of London, co-financed by the European Integration Fund.
