Theresa Varga

Theresa Varga is an award-winning Director from the North of England.  Her work champions female led stories and pushes a hint of surrealism in everything she makes, using colour and framing as a way to heighten the comedy and characters within a story. After moving to London to study a degree in film, she built up her career by writing and directing comedy shorts, attaining success in festivals worldwide. Achievements to date include directorial pieces shortlisted for the Underwire Festival and BFI Future Film Festival, as well as the acclaimed Smalls Festival and LOCO Film Fest. Most recently, Theresa was shortlisted for the 2019 Victor Adebodun Debut Director Award at the Edinburgh TV Festival New Voice Awards. In 2018, Theresa landed her first TV directing role with series 3 of BAFTA winning CBBC show ‘Secret Life of Boys’.
