Ben Whitehouse

I’m a London-based TV commercials director specialising in comedy, performance and narrative storytelling.

Born to Japanese / Welsh parents I was raised in Cornwall and studied Film Production at Plymouth College of Art to degree Level. On arriving in London I started out as a runner at a top TV commercials production company before going freelance and worked my way up from runner to director’s assistant between 2004 and 2009. In 2009 I got my breakthrough as a director care of Ridley Scott Associates who I signed with until 2011 at which point I moved to a trendy prod co in Shoreditch called Agile Films. Between 2011 to 2017 I broke into mainstream and international TV commercials and built a reputation doing cinematic character comedy work. In 2017 I moved to one of the biggest names in international TVC production called Stink Films.

Outside of advertising I'm currently doing an MA in Screenwriting. As a part of this course I'm developing several features and a TV show.
