Akin Kongi

Akin Kongi graduated in business and finance. He later went on to study Insurance. He worked in the insurance industry for fifteen years, he left Insurance as the Executive Director of the former Triumph Assurance company Limited. He has been a photographer since he was 18.
He moved on to do a few things but got back into the arts when he invested as an Ex- ecutive Producer in two feature films “OMO FOWORA” and “OGBON”. He has since then gone back to film school and graduated form New York Film Academy. He is now a known Photographer/Filmmaker. He had a successful photography exhibi tion at the Bogobiri Art Festival in Lagos in 2013, and in 2014 had another exhibition at Terra Kulture which he was invited to do by the organising committee of FELABRATION a celebration of the Legendary Musician and freedom figther Fela Kuti.
Since leaving film School he has gone on to shoot another film called “Orisa Aafin” in which he was the main lead, Executive Producer, Producer, as well as Director, in 2010, he also produced and directed his second feature  “Ogere”, this part funded by a federal government grant.
He has worked with many cooperate companies like, MTN, Total, Goethe Institute, West African Power Pool, and shot some short films,videos and private work.
Akin Kongi now resides in London working as a filmmaker/Photographer.
