Biography

Clare Macdonald is a film director, writer and artist. Their shorts, personal and commissioned, have won awards and nominations at Bafta- and Oscar-qualifying festivals globally, including Best Director from the AWFJ in the US and NFTS Star of Tomorrow at Bafta. They were selected to Canneseries Writers Club, the Annecy Festival Residency, and a Sundance Feature Lab and Sundance X YouTube Episodic Lab Finalist. Clare is a Directors UK Inspire Mentee, founder member of Primetime and Cinesisters, trained at NFTS, studies with Joan Scheckel on the Filmmaking Labs, graduated Oxford classics, and is bilingual in French. Currently developing their Anglo-French feature debut.
