Biography

Grant is a writer and director with a passion for telling upbeat stories about disability and care. His award-winning shorts have screened at BAFTA, BFI and festivals worldwide. He’s directed LGBTQ+ series ‘Flatshare’, web series #Reality, award-winning short ‘Emigrant’ and his latest film ‘Ecstasy’ is a heartfelt adventure about a disabled father and son’s attempt to buy drugs so the Dad can dance with his wife... one last time. Picking up 9 awards and screening at Bafta and Oscar qualifying festivals worldwide.

As a writer, Grant’s TV pilot ‘Shortcutz’ about disability, dating and tech, was shortlisted by Amazon Studios WriterSlam and his short ‘Death by Water Pistol’, reached the table read stage with Film London as well as being selected by the Triforce Creative Network to be pitched live at BAFTA in front of the Stefan Allesch-Taylor film fund. His short Ecstasy won the Cine Circle Pitching Competition and went on to be shot in 2020.

Grant has a degree in Architecture and makes commercials, music videos and branded films alongside his narrative work, with a focus on projects that have a social and environmental conscience. In 2013 Grant worked in New Delhi, India, teaching children living in the cities slums how to make films. Where they told stories about child marriage, alcoholism and bullying and screened them to their parents and community. That’s the moment he realised that films can change the world.

What starts out as an idyllic flatshare with best friend Kemi is ruined when Omar illegally sublets to his ex, Tom.
