Biography

Brady Hood is a writer/director from Yorkshire. He was featured as a ‘Screen International Star of Tomorrow’ in 2016 and since then has gone from strength to strength with his work. Brady led season two of Netflix’s award winning TOP BOY revival created by Ronan Bennett and produced by Cowboy Films, after shooting two episodes of the preceding series. Next up was serving as lead director on Steven Knight’s bold new take on GREAT EXPECTATIONS for BBC1/FX and he is currently editing a new series for Apple TV called VARSITY. Created by Steve Thompson and produced by New Regency and Scott Free, Brady has directed all eight episodes of this twisty conspiracy thriller. Prior to “Top Boy” after working as an assistant to film directors such as Joe Wright, Lone Scherfig and Otto Bathurst, Brady was accepted onto the prestigious MA Directing Fiction course at the National Film and Television School. On the year of his graduation he was snapped up to launch season 5 of ENDEAVOUR for ITV in the UK. Brady’s graduation film from the NFTS, SWEET MADDIE STONE won numerous worldwide awards including “Short Film of the year” at the Critic’s Circle Film Awards and the “Brief Grand Prix” at Bristol Encounters Film Festival. Brady’s other short films have played all over the world at a number of festivals including Palm Springs, LA and Flickerfest. Aside from his adaptation of SWEET MADDIE STONE, Brady is also writing a feature film for Working Title as well as developing a feature called THE CLINK with producer John Giwa-Amu. Furthermore Brady is also writing his first TV show, PRIDELAND.
