Lindsay Brown is a Scottish documentary Director-Producer working across independent film and factual television. Her Scottish Documentary Institute short SWAN, was both nominated for Scottish BAFTA 2016 and selected for Grierson shortlist 2017. The follow up, Time to Fly, was commissioned as part of the Right Here series for BBC Scotland. She has directed-produced for popular reality television, specialist factual and observational documentary for C4, C5, A&E Network and BBC. As a filmmaker, she loves developing engaging human-interest stories interwoven with deep societal issues.
A creative and confident factual shooter with edit experience, she also has a solid background in research, scripting and story development. Sensitive in her approach to filming, she has a first career in Arts and Community Education.
Experience in blue light, sensitive medical, social history, history, archive, property, rural affairs, and family focussed stories. This is across observational documentary, documentary, specialist factual, reality, fixed rig and factual entertainment. With a marine filming background, her location experience includes working in challenging environments in the UK and abroad including sea-vessels and the arctic. She has an underwater camera speciality, and is a qualified HSE and Advanced Diver
