Vijay D. Varu
Biography
Vijay is a director, writer and producer from London, UK. He is also an alumni of BAFTA Crew & BFI Network X and the founder of the film production company 'Scene 97’.
His debut short film '833' was well received on the festival circuit, collecting awards and securing distribution deals with Shorts International and Gaia. Award highlights included winning 'Best UK Short Film' at the London Independent Film Festival 2018, 'Adam ‘The Hammer’ Heck - Strong As Heck - Inspirational Filmmaker Award’ at the SBE’s Hamilton (New York) International Film Festival (2017), and winning an 'Audience Award' at the San Jose International Film Festival 2016.
While growing up in London, Vijay was able to explore the vast array of diverse cultures and learn about different life stories.
He's developing more projects under ‘Scene 97’ and is passionate about making films with the audience experience at the heart of every decision. He looks to continue to do this through collaboratingwith like-minded filmmakers.
