Kevin Connor

Born Kings Cross, London and raised in North Mimms, Hertfordshire. Schooled in nearby Potters Bar, where at age 12 developed the passion for films, which he has retained ever since. At the school he was encouraged to make films of the annual school sports and local events on a 9.5mm borrowed camera. These he showed to fellow school children and charged three pence per head. Eager to move into the film industry, he left school at sixteen, and entered a documentary film company, British Films Ltd., in London's Soho, as an Assistant film editor. From there, soon found work in the cutting rooms of Shepperton, Elstree and Pinewood Studios. Over the next ten years, he worked on the sound tracks and editing of the films of many of the top directors in England... Tony Richardson, Karel Reiz, Lindsay Anderson, Dick Lester, Bryan Forbes and Richard Attenborough. It was Richard Attenborough who gave him the much needed break to edit his first directorial film "Oh! What A Lovely War" Connor's feature directing break came from producer Milton Subotsky, a horror film, "Tales From Beyond The Grave". This was quickly followed by several Edgar Rice Burroughs stories such as "Land That Time Forgot"' "At The Earth's Core" and "People That Time Forgot" After directing several more feature films, he moved to Los Angeles and directed a feature "Motel Hell" another horror film genre, but found himself being drawn to television mini-series, the most notable being "Master of The Game", "North & South Book 2", "Great Expectations", "The Old Curiosity Shop", “ Iran, 444 DAYS”, “Frankenstein”, “Blackbeard” and most recently “Marco Polo”. He is now preparing a feature film for production in 2014/15. "Connemara Days" - a nod to John Ford's iconic film "The Quiet Man".
