Biography
Ella is an award-winning film and TV director based in London. Most recently, she was Series Director and Executive Producer on SWEETPEA, a 6x1 hour darkly comic drama produced by See-Saw Films and Fanboy, written by Kirstie Swain and currently airing on Sky and Starz. Other television work includes HBO's horror-comedy series THE BABY, comedy-drama BACK TO LIFE for BBC and Showtime, and PANDEMONIUM for BBC1. Ella won ‘Best Comedy Director’ at the RTS Craft Awards 2020 for her work directing the second season of ENTERPRICE (BBC3) and was nominated again for the same award in 2021 for BACK TO LIFE. Enterprice was also nominated for a Broadcast Digital Award for ‘Best Comedy Programme’ where Ella’s comedy miniseries FULLY BLOWN (for BBC3/Studio 71) was nominated for ‘Best Short-Form. Ella’s short films have played at festivals internationally and she has feature projects developed with Damian Jones Films and Netflix and Creative UK’s Breakout development scheme.
