Biography

Originally trained as a violinist, I came to filmmaking - via London Film School - from an ongoing career in the music industry, playing for major orchestras and commercial recording artists in the UK & USA.
Since graduating, with an MA in Screenwriting, I have written and directed a series of award-winning short films, built a portfolio of feature scripts and founded my production company, Precious Hack Productions, which gives me the freedom to work with a likeminded team that is truly collaborative, and diverse across disciplines.

A bereft musician counts the days till she is allowed to perform again. The film is an exploration of sound and what it means to a musician. I want to express the pain and trauma suffered by my fellow musicians during this time, when they have been robbed of not only their livelihoods and social life but also their very means of expression. The sound is deliberately uncomfortably sparse (though the sound design of that silence is complex) in order to bring the audience into the world of a musician without music. Filmed in lockdown, under strict safety protocols, this film was developed with filmmakers in the EU, as part of the Creatives Across Borders initiative during the Covid 19 pandemic, this short is both a stand alone work and part of collaborative film in which all the films are intertwined to form one story. Although filmed in multiple countries, by different directors, the film will create the impression that it is shot at one time in one location. 2021
