Biography
Writer/Director Will Jewell has scripted or directed drama and comedy for the BBC, The Huffington Post, Sky and Channel 4. These include Channel 4’s BAFTA-winning interactive drama ‘Bow Street Runner’ andepisodes of drama series ‘Doctors’,developing and scripting the BBC’s web drama series ‘Wannabes’,‘Horrible Histories: Terrible Treasures’and the award-winning ‘7NK – The Shakespeare Murders’. Will also directed ‘South Coast’ – an acclaimed music feature documentary which secured international distribution. His short film ‘Man In Fear’- about a group of conceptual artists who create accidents as works of art – starred James Lance, Luke Treadaway and Tim Healy and screened in various international festivals, was BAFTA long-listed and selected for the New British Cinema Quarterly. The film is now being developed into a feature. Will has directed music promos for various bands including Skunk Anansie as well as promos for various blue chip companies and national organisations. He lectures regularly on Directing at Ravensbourne and Brighton Film School and is currently in pre-production on the Film Wales-backed ‘Concrete Plans’,his debut narrative feature which he also wrote. The film has attached cast including Daniel Mays, Steve Pemberton, Goran Bogdan, Kevin Guthrie and Charley Palmer Rothwell as well as Paul Hartnoll (Orbital) on board as composer.
