Laura Scrivano is an Italian-Australian filmmaker based in London. She has most recently wrapped directing the final four episodes of
Wedding Season for Disney+ / Hulu on location in the UK and USA. Prior to that she directed two episodes of
The Lazarus Project by Joe Barton, premiering on Sky Max / Now TV in June 2022. Laura's debut feature,
Ring Road is in development with Silver Salt Films (
Censor). It was shortlisted for Sundance Screenwriters' Lab 2021 and has been awarded early development funding from the BFI Network. Her other credits include
A Wilderness of Mirrors, the second feature length episode in the first season of
McDonald & Dodds (ITV/Britbox) - for which she was nominated for
Debut Director at Edinburgh TV Festival's 2021 New Voice Awards, and award-winning short film
Alice starring Sarah Snook (
Succession). Commercial spots include work for the
FA, Sky, Bumble, NHS, Budweiser, Scouts UK and
Instagram. Laura’s work has been described as ‘beautifully honest’
(The Guardian), ‘fabulously brought to life’ (Stephen Fry), ‘groundbreaking’
(Sydney Morning Herald), and ‘inspirational’
(PromoNews). She was named as
"Ones to Watch" for the Edinburgh TV Festival 2020-2021. A graduate of the Australian Film, Television & Radio School (AFTRS) in both directing and screenwriting, her shorts have screened at festivals internationally, including
BFI Flare, Sundance, Oberhausen, Aesthetica, Cyprus Film Days, Cinema des Antipodes at Festival de Cannes and
New York Fashion Week.
