Biography

Award winning producer/director specialising in making highly visual observational, current affairs and natural history documentaries.

The reason why I became a documentary filmmaker is because I am passionate about telling real stories with beautiful images. I have worked on all types of films, from intensely observational documentaries, to landmark presenter-led series, through to live shows for broadcasters including BBC, Channel 4, FIVE, NETFLIX, National Geographic, Discovery, PBS and Smithsonian.

As a director my natural curiosity is coupled with strong editorial rigour and a distinctive visual style. As a producer I have a track record in gaining access to people and institutions, and getting my own ideas successfully commissioned. And as a cameraman I self-shoot on all HD formats, capturing telling pictures and decisive sync.

I have extensive overseas filming experience, including visiting some of the world’s most remote and hostile environments in Asia, Africa and South America.
