Biography
Vicki was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and has grown up in London. She is a writer/director for film and television and has worked in the industry for over twenty years in both development and production. For the last three years Vicki has been directing episodes of continuing dramas CASUALTY, EASTENDERS and HOLLYOAKS for BBC and Channel 4. She has also directed episodes of THE DUMPING GROUND and the second season of THE AMELIA GETHING COMPLEX for CBBC and iplayer. Vicki has written and will be directing her first feature length screenplay ZOLA AND ANNE MARIE which is set and will be shot in South Africa. She is also developing and writing her first drama series for television. In 2015 she completed a Master of Arts in Fiction Directing from the Met Film School where she was awarded a full scholarship. Her graduation film SHEILA, also set and shot in Johannesburg, was given a distinction and screened at a number of festivals including Durban International Film Festival, Jozi International Film Festival, Zimbabwe International Film Festival, Rapid Lion, Afrika film festival (Cologne) and Aesthetica Short Film Festival to name just a few. The film was also nominated for Best Short Film at the British Urban Film Festival, where she won the Emerging Talent Award. In 2016 she was selected for the Reykjavik Talent Lab and in 2017 she was part of BAFTA Crew and was selected by Directors UK and Arri for the Alexa Challenge.She is passionate about telling character driven stories that deal with complex emotions and explore the intricacies of society and the human condition.
