Biography
Nimer Rashed is a director and screenwriter from London who has recently finished directing Harlan Coben's FOOL ME ONCE for Quay Street Productions/Netflix.
His career in drama started as a child actor, when he worked across film, TV and theatre. He went on to write for stage and screen, winning the Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award at the International Emmy Awards.
After making his first short film BAGHDAD EXPRESS (featuring Riz Ahmed) which played to acclaim at festivals worldwide, he went on to win the UK’s biggest short film competition, the Virgin Media Shorts Grand Prize (awarded by Shane Meadows and judged by David Tennant) with his short film TOUCH, and since then has directed continuing drama shows such as EASTENDERS and CASUALTY for the BBC (which landed him on the BBC’s New Talent Hotlist),as well as THE GOOD KARMA HOSPITAL (Tiger Aspect/ITV) and MISS SCARLET AND THE DUKE (PBS).
He’s also worked as 2nd Unit Director on shows like PRESS (BBC), THE CAPTURE (BBC/NBC), and THE FEED(Amazon/Studio Lambert), and has also worked as a voice director for both AAA and indie video games.
Nimer is a member of BAFTA and Directors UK, and is represented by Jack Thomas at Independent Talent.
