Biography

Leonora recently directed both episodes of The Pale Horse, an Agatha Christie adaptation written by Sarah Phelps and produced by Mammoth Screen for BBC One and Amazon. The show stars Rufus Sewell and Kaya Scodelario and airs February 2020.

Her short films have been nominated for a Student Academy Award and received a Hollywood Foreign Press Association grant. Her last short, BEAST, starring Billie Piper, is a gothic fairytale funded by Creative England and the BFI NET.WORK. The film won Best Short at Woodstock Film Festival and the Voice of a Woman Best Short during Cannes Lions. It screened at multiple BAFTA and Academy-qualifying film festivals.  Along with BAFTA-nominated writer Islay Bell-Webb and Ardimages (God's Own Country), Leonora is developing the feature Ex Sanguis. The project was originally developed through iFeatures and was recently selected for Toronto’s LGBTQ Inside Out Film Finance Forum and the Film London PFM. She was also a co-writer/co-director on the James Franco-helmed project Black Dog, Red Dog starring Whoopi Goldberg, Chloe Sevigny and Logan Marshall-Green. 

She attended the MFA program at TISCH, NYU and is represented for film/television by Roxana Adle and Alex Rusher at Independent Talent Group and by Lief for commercials. ​
