Jamie Seal

I am an Award-Winning Series Producer & Director, with sixteen years experience making blue-chip observational documentaries, specialist factual films and formats for the BBC and Channel 4. Specialising specifically in first series, I have a reputation for taking projects on from inception and seeing them through to final delivery. This often involves researching complex and sensitive subject matter, developing and maintaining access - particularly in large institutions, finding strong characters, cultivating relationships, and creating powerful stories that are consistent with editorial intentions. I’m also an established broadcast camera operator, with strong visual sensibilities and extensive experience working independently in the UK and overseas. I’m used to handling substantial budgets and managing large teams, from pre-production right through to post. During my time in the industry I have won a BAFTA CYMRU (Surgeons: 2018), been nominated for a Grierson (60 Days on the Streets), a BANFF, an RTS award (The Big Life Fix: 2018), worked on four BAFTA nominated series, and been part of production teams that have won a Rose d’Or, a Broadcast award, and a Grierson for Best Documentary Series.
