Biography
After directing two award-winning short films, Gareth wrote and directed his first feature film, THE BAKER. Developed by Working Title, produced by Picture Farm. Released theatrically in the UK in 2008 THE BAKER is a comedy starring Damian Lewis (HOMELAND), Kate Ashfield (SHAUN OF THE DEAD), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (GAME OF THRONES) and Michael Gambon (HARRY POTTER). It was released theatrically in America under the title ASSASSIN IN LOVE. It won several awards and nominations, among them Best Feature at the Riverrun International Film Festival, Best Director at the Naples international Film Festival, Best Director at Tremblant Film Festival, Official Selection at the Istanbul Film Festival. His next feature film, ARMOREL, is starting production in September 2016. He is also attached to direct FALLING STARS, from his own script, to be produced by Gail Egan (A MOST WANTED MAN, MR. TURNER, VERA DRAKE, CONSTANT GARDENER). It is slated for production in 2017. In addition to his work as a Director, he is also creating and writing a new TV series with Tim Kring (Creator of HEROES) and an English language TV series set in China at the start of the first millenium, based on the classic Chinese novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, to be produced by Pure Grass Films. He has also written for ITV, NBC Universal, Tantamount Studios and CBS where he co-created and wrote two television pilots, GREENER PASTURES and LIFE AND STUFF.
