Biography
A British Academy of Television Arts (BAFTA) 'Breakthrough Brit 2016/17', Ellen is a freelance wildlife Producer /Director, writer and presenter, specialising in underwater as well as terrestrial content.
A producer on multi-award winning BBC1 series, The Hunt - narrated by Sir David Attenborough, prior projects she has worked on include Life Story (BBC1 2013) -also narrated by David Attenborough, Ocean Giants (BBC1 2011) - narrated by Stephen Fry, and South Pacific - narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC2 2009).
The Hunt is a 7-part blue chip British Academy Award (BAFTA)-nominated widlife series, and 2 x Craft BAFTA winning series; Ellen was also a Director on Emmy-nominated Ocean Giants, and Assistant Producer on Cinematography Emmy-winning South Pacific.
Having travelled to around 40 countries Ellen has a track record of filming in remote locations with complex logistics. Her work takes her all over the world, with subjects ranging from killer whales hunting humpback whales, to oceanic white tip sharks and tiger sharks, insects, cheetahs, and albatross. With a background in actuality and sync as well as major blue chip productions, Ellen is a HSE-qualified professional SCUBA diver with a Ph.D. & M.Sc. in marine biology. She also writes photo-illustrated articles for publication and has presented and contributed to BBC output on topics of wildlife and marine conservation.
