Talya Tibbon

Talya Tibbon is an award winning, Bafta and IDA nominated, producerand director. 

Her independent feature doc Sky and Ground premiered atDOC NYC film festival aired on PBS (now on Amazon). It won Cine’sGolden Eagle award. In 2018 she was twice nominated for theInternational Documentary Association awards: for Best documentary(2018) and for her film for the docuseries Amanpour: Sex and LoveAround the World (now available on Netflix).
Over the years Talya has filmed in 4 continents: from Boko Haramterritory in Nigeria to the slums of Karachi, from gang-controlledneighborhoods in Honduras to the corridors of the White House andWall Street trading floors. She has documented people and subjects aswide-ranging as drug dealers and users and the effect of the legalizationof Marijuana, to mass shooters and those who survive their crimes; fromwomen trafficked in some of the most dangerous parts of CentralAmerica to refugees fleeing war on their journey across the Balkans intoEurope; from former Guantanamo detainees setting out on a new pathto Wall Street traders as the financial crisis of 2008 unfolds. And evendaredevil ice swimmers in Siberia.
Talya has interviewed Nobel Prize winners, those tasked with decisionmakingduring 9/11 (including Cheney and Rumsfeld), Obama’s topadvisors about capturing and killing Osama bin Laden; and JulianAssange on how the Cold War led him to create Wikileaks. She alsospent time documenting less famous but equally fascinating characters:from sex workers to public health volunteers; from criminals to cops;from new mothers to orphans.
She is currently in development stages of an independent documentaryproject about the WWII history in Eastern Europe and a scripted drama.
