Biography
I have been working in factual television for 20 years, during which time I have produced and directed for some of the TV industry’s most creative and innovative companies, including Wildstar Films, Silverback, Oxford Scientific Films and Passion Pictures. My work has won Emmy, Wildscreen and Jackson Hole awards as well as being nominated for BAFTA and Grierson awards.
In recent years I have focused on natural history programming, making films for the BBC, National Geographic, PBS and Discovery Channel, however my career began in current affairs and observational documentary – I am pretty sure I am one of the few people to go all the way to Antarctica to make a film about a post office. My diverse range of experience, filming in places like the slums of Lagos, with isolated South American tribes or inside the world’s leading research institutions, as well as with a variety of people, cultures and animals, has helped me to hone my approach to film making - striving for superb visuals while being driven by the characters and real stories in the world around me.
