Biography

Alice started as an advertising copywriter and journalist before adding scriptwriting to her portfolio. She's won several script awards, written over 80 episodes of "Ninja Warrior" for Challenge TV, and secured options for several feature scripts. She regularly writes blogs, reviews and articles about films and film making for online magazines, and is an associate lecturer on the M A Screenwriting at the London College of Communication. Alice has also published short stories and joke books.

She's directed 19 shorts since 2010, but she has also written several other film and TV scripts and treatments. Genres include historical, supernatural, sci-fi, fantasy and horror. Alice is developing other writing projects with her literary agent.

In February 2016, she directed a one-woman show of her own script at the Vauxhall Tea House Theatre and this is now developed as a feature script for sale. In the same year, she completed three short films - all of which got selected at international film festivals.

In 2017, she created a short for the Directors UK Alexa Challenge called "Home to the Hangers" which has been selected for festivals in the USA and in the UK. It won A Certain Regard (Cinematography), Best British Short Film, the Imperial War Museum's Special Category Award: Making a new world, Best Combined Use of Sound & Music, with nominations for cinematography and costume design.

She completed a short film for the Visible Poetry Project in 2018, and made a micro short and a charity film in 2019 (Silver Award winner in the 2020 Charity Film Awards). Also in 2019, Alice directed her stage play "The Waiting Room" in the One Act Play Festival at the Stockwell Playhouse. She shot a music video and two short dramas in 2020, and both the dramas were completed in 2021 and have premiered at international film festivals. The monologue film "Put Away" has won 13 awards so far, while "Odds" has won 5.  In 2022, she was commissioned to direct "Playing Away", the award-winning short script in the Film Expo South Script to Screen competition.

She's finished the working draft of her directing debut feature, and she's collaborating with others on a a feature documentary, a kids' sitcom and an animated web series.  A historical radio drama that she wrote was released with Towton Audio in August 2021, and another will be released early in 2023.

Alice has been selected for the BAFTA Connect, and is also a member of Cinesister, the ITV Comedy 50:50, and the Film London/UKTV All Voices initiatives.
