Budget is $7.5 million and on its theatrical release in the UK it played for 5 weeks in the West End. It has sold to 24 countries and Alexander Walker of the Evening Standard found it “excellent…a film with a brain behind it”. Preaching to the Perverted This 1997 cult comedy was theatrically released in 23 countries and a popular title on the film festival circuit. Recently among The Guardian's Top 10 Films on Kinky Sex. TV: Stuart’s feature-length 1992 BBC drama, An Ungentlemanly Act, dramatising the first 36 hours of the Falklands War starring Ian Richardson and Bob Peck, won the BAFTA as Best Single Drama plus international awards. In 1995 Urban directed Our Friends in the North, casting the little known Daniel Craig in what became the most successful drama for 15 years on BBC2 and won him another BAFTA for Best Drama Serial. Voted third best television drama of all time by The Guardian’s critics’ panel. Stuart wrote the $6 million HBO/BBC film Deadly Voyage that won the Silver Nymph for Best Screenplay at Monte Carlo in 1997 and proved one of HBO’s most popular movies of the year. In 1999, Harold Pinter chose Stuart to co-write, produce and direct Against the War, an acclaimed documentary for the BBC about Western interventionism. 2017 BAFTA-nominated as writer/exec producer of ITV's The Secret, starring James Nesbitt. It hit No 4 on Netflix in July 2022.
