David Pearson

Award winner writer, director and producer (RTS, FIPA, BAFTA, Nicki, Grierson etc) working in cinema and TV (BBC, ITV & C4).  

I am a story teller, who as a director has been BAFTA Nominated and won many awards most recently a Royal Television Society Award in 2012. Currently I am attached as director to “Brother of All Battles”, a post Brexit thriller for FoR, shooting we hope in 2018.  I have directed over forty TV programmes –many of them award winners. I have shot all over the world for the BBC, C4, ITV, MBS, PBS and produced for BBC, ITV, C4, Sky, ZDF and others. Directed fictional short "Black Car Home", screened at the BAFTA qualifying 2015 LSFF and in six cinemas. Directed and produced: Baglady, Love Tory, Change Of Sex, and Whose House Is It Anyway,& Byline.  I founded Arturi Films, and produced the Oscar Shortlisted, BAFTA & Emmy Nominated, BIFA and Prix Italia winning feature film “Mugabe and the White African”. He founded and programmed the International Screenwriters' Festival. My development experience as a producer includes working with writers Richard Parry (A Night in the Woods) for “Hollow Point”, a co-production with Arturi and Michael Wearing Ltd, Brian Ward (The Interpreter) for “One Arm Bandit”, Terry Loane (Mickey Bo and Me) for “Ten Pence Solution” a Canadian Coproduction with Silo Films, Montreal and “The Hum”, a supernatural thriller (co-written by David Pearson and Isabelle Raynauld), a Canadian co-production supported by Telefilms. I have run sessions or been on panels at Cannes, Edinburgh, Cheltenham Literary Festival, Med Doc, SIDF, & IDFA, and run director’s course for ITF and the BBC.
