Tim Newton

I have over twenty years experience in the media and entertainment industry, producing and directing independent films, factual entertainment, comedy, commercials and corporate films. My first feature film "Art Party" - a collaboration with the artist Bob and Roberta Smith, went on release this Summer. As a freelance producer/director in television, I've worked on factual entertainment series for the BBC and ITV, including Beat the Burglar, Beat the Bailiff (Lion TV) and several series of Cash in the Attic (Leopard Films). I’m skilled at coordinating and managing teams of crew and cast, from intimate documentary shoots to large production set pieces. Mostly presenter-led location shoots, often multi-camera. I also self shoot and frequently edit my own work. Under my company banner, Citizens’ Band Pictures, I've created a broad range of content from art films and commercials to training videos. I also write and direct independent work; such as the drama short, “Trimming Pablo”, telling the story of Picasso’s little-known visit to Sheffield for the 1950 World Peace Congress.
