Biography
Vinod Mahindru graduated from The London International Film School in 1998. He directs short film: "To get rich is glorious" (16mm,1998, 5 mins) which was selected at The 27th Huesca Film Festival, Spain and also shown at the 9th Experimental Film Week, Madrid, Spain 1999. His next short film "Our father" (Super 16mmm, 2000, 9 mins) was shown at 'The bite the mango' Film festival, Bradford, UK as well as the Marato de l'espectacle arts festival, Barcelona, Spain. In 2001, his pioneering film group MARSHALL MAHINDRU gain a full 'awards for all' grant to produce and direct 2 further short films: "In broad daylight" ( 16mm,2002 15mins) which was shown at The Birmingham Arts fest in 2003, and "Red Faces" (35mm, 2002, 9 mins) which was shown at UGC cinemas as part of the 1st Birmingham Screen festival, 2004. In 2006, Vinod Mahindru forms CINEMARX (www.Cinemarx.co.uk) -his independent sole trader film and video company producing freelance video and film work. He has worked part time for cinemas such as The Prince Charles Cinema and the UGC Cinemas Ltd chain over the past twenty years and is currently a part time cinema supervisor for Cineworld Cinemas Ltd. "The British Film Industry: Elitist, Deluded or Dormant?" is his first feature film as co-director with Robin Dutta.
