I am a very experienced Freelance Producer/Director in broadcast Documentaries and Corporates, both for UK and foreign broadcasters. I also work as a self-shooting P/D and have undertaken projects in UK as well as in Japan, Namibia, Burkina Faso, Mali, St Helena, Jamaica, Pakistan and Nepal. In all I have worked in over 25 countries outside Europe. My main subject areas are:- Observational Documentary Adventure Medical Business Sport Product promotion I came into the business from the adventure angle as my sport is whitewater kayaking. I was part of a team that was the subject of a HTV documentary as we descended the river that drains Everest. This is a sport that I am still very much involved in and enjoy the remote areas of the world both to work and play in. In a totally different environment I have made a large number of medical programmes filming operations including open heart surgery and subjects as delicate as Aids, depression, growth disorders and lipid control. Dealing with such subjects has given me a plenty of experience filming contributors in delicate situations, such experience is often useful when I am making my observational documentary programmes. On sporting subjects I have filmed with the stars of “street sport” including Tony Hawk, Jay Miron and Dave Mirra at ESPN’s X-games. On more mainstream sports I have filmed Rally’s in the UK and with Manchester United stars including Michael Owen, Javier Hernández and Fábio and Raphael da Silva. Having begun my career in the cutting rooms I have a very solid background in post-production. The editor in me is also very useful when shooting, as I am always alert to the elements of a story that needs to be captured.
