Biography
Alexander DeSouza is a Canadian Director, Wrtier and Editor. His 2018 short MOTHER’S DAY was nominated for a Golden Sheaf at North America’s longest running film festival, dubbed in two foreign languages and later distributed by SHORTS TV.
His 2019 short, SKIN screened at the 23ᴿᴰ Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival and was featured on Film Shortage. His latest short HOLO, starring Shane West, Morgan Kohan and Zelda Williams is currently in post-production. In addition, Alexander directed the pilot episode of BACK TO ONE currently in development with Shaftesbury’s KindaTV and has also wrote and directed the short documentaries ART IN THE WILD and TAKE A HARD LOOK for CBC ARTS.
Alexander holds a BFA in Film from York University and is an alumni of the 2019 Reykjavik Film Festival Talent Lab. He is a full member of the Directors Guild of Canada, Directors UK, the Canadian Cinema Editors Association, BAFTA and is a voting member of the Canadian Screen Academy.
