Biography
Chanelle Eidenbenz is a Swiss/Dutch filmmaker with an interest in dark, quirky characters and process-driven feminist story structures.
She graduated from the National Film and Television School with her short 'Resort' (2024), which screened at BAFTA, Oscar, and European Film Award-qualifying festivals and won Best Short at Tirana International Film Festival. She is currently developing her feature 'And The Living Is' with Swiss production company The Friend Film and directing three episodes of the comedy/noir series Maloney, set to air in 2026.
In 2017, she was participant of the artist program Transcultural Collaboration in Hong Kong. Her short 'Elephant in the Room' (2018) premiered at Camerimage, screened in over 15 countries—including the Oscar-qualifying Palm Springs and Cinequest festivals—and was nominated for the German Cinematography Prize. In 2019, Chanelle directed the third season of 'Nr.47' for Swiss National TV. 2020/21 she was awarded the screenwriting scholarship Drehbuchwerkstatt München. That same year she directed and co-wrote the docu fiction 'Swissair 111 – Absturz über Halifax' (2022) which was broadcast internationally.
Chanelle has several projects in development and is actively seeking collaborations, particularly in the UK, where she is looking to expand her work in both TV and film.
