Biography

Max Duncan is an award-winning documentary director, cinematographer and journalist. His work has appeared on platforms including the BBC, PBS, The Guardian and Al Jazeera. He has lived in Beijing, Madrid and now London, working across Asia (including North Korea), Africa, Europe and Latin America. His feature documentary, Made in Ethiopia, has received recognition including the Special Jury Mention at the 2024 Tribeca Festival, screened at more than twenty festivals and in 2025 will appear on over a dozen international broadcasters. His other films have won World Press Photo, Webby and One World Media Awards and been supported by organisations including Pulitzer. He is an alumnus of Yaddo and Logan Nonfiction programs, and speaks fluent Mandarin and Spanish.
