Biography
Adura Onashile is a filmmaker and artist based in Glasgow. She works across Theatre, Film and Performance. Her debut feature film GIRL, premiered in competition at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023, won the narrative fiction award at Black star Film Festival and was Bafta nominated for best film and best director in 2024. Her short film, EXPENSIVE SHIT, premiered at the 2020 BFI London Film Festival before going on to be nominated for a BAFTA in 2021, and won the audience and Jury awards at the Glasgow short film festival. Her latest short film, Night Terror, is due for release later this year and she is developing her second feature with BBC films and Home Team.
