Biography

Evie has an innate passion and natural skill for creating work which leaves audiences questioning themselves and the world around them – or just feeling a little more human. Her stylistic voice and vision can be found in her latest NETFLIX funded short ‘The Journey Of Self’, which has been selected for Academy and BIFA qualifying festivals. Most recently Evie has worked on Sky’s Gangs of London S3 as shadow director, which developed into her being credited as a 2nd unit director on the series. Evie aim’s to continue on this path driving forward in the film and TV industry. As well as this, Evie is able to bring a strong visual and emotional value to brand campaigns, music videos and digital content, working alongside various production companies within the industry. Her niche is social issues and stigmatised topics, as well as having a versatile yet detailed style allowing her to jump from gritty realism to stylised filmmaking. Due to her strong eye for bringing out raw emotion in anything that she touches, you can guarantee Evie’s directing and writing style will leave a lasting impression.

A young woman’s struggle with her identity as she comes to terms with her reproductive health issues. 'To Be A Woman' dives deep into emotional and psychological complexities of Tori's personal identity as a woman, and what this means to her after receiving life changing news. We are taken on Tori's journey of confusion, suppression and breaking point until finally she comes to a heartbreaking reflection on her life as a woman. When we are taught in our culture that to be a woman equals to be a mother, or to be able to be a mother - how do people from groups excluded from this path feel? 2021

Set in one room, spanning over the course of one year, the traumatic inner turmoil of one young women is exposed though the lens of therapy, as she questions her sense of self and belonging in the world. This is a story of life, love, hurting and healing. Aiming to open up conversation, to provoke us, and to reflect on our own journeys as well as societal issues around us. A film to break boundaries in being unapologetically authentic. Also, maybe above all, to paint a true portrayal of the non linear experience of therapy and personal growth; the good, the bad, and the ugly - the reality.
