Biography
Based in Cardiff, Nicky is a director specialising in drama and comedy. His portfolio includes the award-winning BBC short film ‘It’s Nice! (When People Take The Time To Say Goodbye)’, animated commercials, and a series pilot currently in development. With ten years of experience as an animator, story artist, and animation director, he has worked on various projects, including children’s television series and feature films. Most recently, he co-animation directed for Richard Linklater’s feature, Apollo 10 ½. Nicky is now transitioning into narrative drama within the live-action domain, bringing his storytelling skills, humour, and timing from animation. He recently shadowed Rebekah Fortune on the feature Learning to Breathe Underwater, where he was given the role of Creative Assistant to the Director, contributing his animation expertise to the live-action/animation sequences. Currently, he is working on his next short film, Steady Eddie and the anthology series pilot Bin Day in collaboration with writer Alice Condon, with whom he previously partnered on the award-winning short film It’s Nice!
