Biography

Tamzin Haughton is a British director and screenwriter.  Her short film 'Hotel Metro' 2023 won eight awards including 'Silver Award for Directing' at New York Movie Awards, 'Best Original Screenplay' at Naples Film Awards and 'Best International Film' at Rome Movie Awards'. A returner to industry, her first narrative short 'Swimming' was commissioned by FilmFour in 2006. She worked her way up from Runner to 1st Assistant Director in music videos, subsequently directing music videos and narrative short films. In 2023 to 2025, supported by ScreenSkills bursaries and mentor Helen Ostler, she attended NFTS under Peter Ansorge (ex Head of Drama Chanel Four), Peter described her work as 'beautifully written, poetic and gritty'. She was awarded a place on prestigious Curtis Brown Creative course, writing three long form screenplays for television and film, including a psychological thriller and an action feature film, in her unique original voice with strong female leads.
